    Hello dear friends. Another beautiful video, my dear friends. Sorry, Keith, for the short response, but I had surgery on my thumb last week. I could no longer stretch it and it hurt when I had to reach for something. But everything went well and I can start taking pictures outside again next week. I believe that dark maroon brick structure was a wooden building and the brick front or facade was added later from the 1920's up until the 1950's. I would also bet there was another vanished structure between that brick one and the wood one with the porch. Well done Keith

    Hi Keith, I live in Memphis and spend a good bit of time photographing ruins and decay in the Mississippi and Arkansas Delta. I recently discovered and now really enjoy your UA-cam channel. I’ve been photographing for over 20 years and have done some medium format b&w work with several cameras, but now I work almost exclusively in digital. I was unaware of the historic buildings in Michigan City, so I visited and photographed them this week along with some rather spectacular ruins/deserted buildings in Holly Springs, about 15 mi south of Michigan City. The ruins are on a 120 acre parcel and publicly accessible. They are the ruins of 3 abandoned building from the Mississippi Industrial College, and they are among the most spectacular ruins in my region. There is also a rich history to the school. Next time you’re over in that area, I encourage you to pay a visit. They won’t disappoint! Here is a small collection of my images from the MIC ruins made this week. www.flickr.com/photos/mattmathews/shares/Bw2w6211Jy Cheers, Matt

    It seems that every "travel view" channel on UA-cam wants to focus on the worst areas..... the areas that have the most distressed & abandoned properties. Okay, I get that your channel may be focused on that, but every video that I've watched about Meridian focuses solely on that. Meridian is so much more than that. Yes, we have areas that are "run down". Yes, we have a high crime rate due to poor city leadership. However, there are many good people in this city, of all races, & there are many good areas of town that are never shown. This is still a vibrant city with many good areas, & many good people, that no one seems to be willing to show on UA-cam. I think every town or city has it's good side & bad side, but it is unfortunate that people, like yourself, want to make money by casting everyone in only a bad light.

    • @Keithdotson
      @Keithdotson 8 днів тому

      Unfortunately you have completely misjudged my purpose. I use my videos to capture what I consider to be beautiful and fading bits of history before they are gone. Nothing in my video is about judgment nor the quality of the citizens or any of that. I’ve been to Meridian many times and I happen to love the city and I’m aware it’s vibrant and beautiful in other ways but I don’t make photographs of new things. I make photographs of old things in a derelict condition. But you obviously love the city too so why don’t you make the video you wish others would make rather than criticizing my hard work.

    Hello Keith as I watch this video, a photo project screams out at me. In a time of division and polarization ,in the world and in nations, this little historical town reminds us to remember and learn from our history, not forget it and denigrate it. I respect this property owner placing new American flags on these old buildings in a spot reminiscent of so much pain and division from a civil war that opened great wounds in your nation. I am not an American but I pray for your nation that it will remember its past and remember where division and hate lead and choose to heal. Thank you for your content👍😀

    Wow! That's a beautiful old home. I was trying to figure out if it was built as is from the start or added to over time. Mulberry Cutoff Rd! What a great name. BTW, love the "baseball cap filter technique"! LOL! Love the texture in the Coca-Cola sign. Thanks for taking us along, have a great weekend!

    Hello dear friends. This is a beautiful house to photograph. Especially the sides covered with green. And you've proven that too, friend. You have taken beautiful photos. And the Fuji is becoming very popular. I have already seen several film photographers working with it. There are 3 or 4 different versions. And what you also show is that film is a very strong medium. It is becoming very expensive when I see the prices of the film. I remember when I paid 5 guilders for a 35mm black and white film with 36 shots. But that time is over. I completely agree with what you say about updating the lettering on the walls, you should stay away from this. I have now lost 19 kg, so that plate of food looks very tasty, my friend. But I'll stay away from that, it's better for my health. Of course, I enjoyed it, I do that every time, my friend. Could you say hi to Teena from me? Thanks again for sharing this video, buddy. Antoine.

      It would be a great idea for me to lose a few pounds myself! I hope you are feeling better and getting to use your new camera! You are so right about the price of film and developing. The Fuji GW cameras are popular because they make a big 6 x 9 negative. I also like it because it loads film across the back like a 35 mm film camera. I love my Hasselblad 500 CM, but it's a pain in the backside to load film into the film back. I passed along your greeting to Teena and she said to tell you hello. We both enjoy hearing from you.

    Hi Keith, nice work as ever. I just picked up a second copy of the GW690 from a collector, he has owned it from new & it's only shot 3 rolls in it's life. Mine you I did have to pay for it! Time to raid the fridge for 120 .....

      Oh you really scored -- you got essentially a brand new camera! This one I have now is a good working machine but the light seals need replacing. My first camera misfires randomly and you can't tell until the film is developed.

    Beautiful, Keith. We also had a similar kind of store in Roosendaal. The name was "Jan Snel". "Snel" means fast, but the service was the least of all. You could buy everything there, but if she had to look for a part, you could end up standing in the store for half an hour. But these are beautiful places with a lot of history behind them. Thank you for sharing, my dear friend. Antoine.

      Ha that’s funny isn’t it? The service matched the time period of the store, from a slower period.

    what a fantastic store, thanks for sharing, not likely I'd get down that way any time soon and I'm glad to have seen it.
